No that is not true at all, In Islam a man is encouraged to pray at the Mosque whenever possible and should pray at the Mosque every Friday for prayers. A woman, because of home and child responsibilities is given the concession that she can pray at home. This is to make things easier for her. She can attend the mosque if she like for prayers on any day. Women and men do not pray together in the mosque, they are usually in separate rooms in the larger mosques or at least separated by a curtain and in smaller ones the women pray at the back of the room. This is not meant to demean women in any way. It is because prayers for a Muslim are not like the prayers Christians have in church where they are standing quietly with heads bowed. For a Muslim they are alternately standing, bending over from the waist, and kneeling on the ground with their forehead touching their prayer rug. The women are separated to protect them from being watched in these positions by the men, to allow the men not to be distracted by the women and to help preserve the woman's modesty. In a family setting a woman can pray with her husband with the husband standing slightly to the front of her and the woman behind and on the side. (It is the same when 2 women or 2 men are praying, one in front and the other behind and to the side.)

I would stop listening to Anti-Muslim fanatics because then it gives the impression that you are also like that..

No, it's not true. A woman can come and go to the mosque when she pleases. No one stops her, or forces her to bring a male escort. I know of many different types of women (non-married, widowed, married, married with kids, etc) that go to pray alone. There's nothing wrong with it. Muslim women have their own say in things as well, it's not like the media portrays Islam; women do not go around following orders of their husbands like brainless gits. Most of the time, a women does go to mosque with her family (or husband), but under some circumstances he could be busy so she is free to go on without him. There's nothing wrong with it.

Benevolence and Forgiveness?
One time a woman was brought to Muhammad who had committed adultery. They asked him, "What shall we do with her? Muhammad said, "Go away. Bring her back after the baby is born." So they brought her back after the baby was born, and Muhammad said, "Let her go and nurse the child. Bring her back when the child is two years old." So they brought her back, and Muhammad said, "Take the baby from her and kill her." And that is what they did. Reference: "Islam and Terrorism", Page 203-204
