given that the US' border with Mex is about 2000-mile long and the fence they're building is only about 700-mile long, are the minutemen going to hold hands across the remaining length of the border to seal the US off? It should work, seeing as the average weight of the minutemen is about 205lbs. Agreed?

I am in agreement with many that we must control our borders. It is a national security issue and the drug lords freely pass drugs into the United States. Okay but we have problems on both sides of the "fence". The "fence" will not stop the corruption of US Officials who allow these drugs to be passed. These same officials will have a key to open that "border fence" to admit the drug lords but will not permit the passage of the poor illegal immigrant that came to clean up your buildings instead of blowing them up. Why do so many drugs come into the United States? The answer supply and demand. We need these illegal immigrants to work the jobs that our so drug addicted nation will not fill. WE NEED COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM. We do not need to repair the damaged levy by placing our finger in the hole. We need to repair the entire levy. DON'T let these politicians keep you ignorant....This whole smoke screen/border fence is just a ploy to get them reelected. These same politicians know that we need this "illegal" work force just as much as they need us.....Think.....if it were not true would it have taken them so long to do something about it. NO it wouldn't have. The 911 incident caused us all to think....but did the illegal alien mastermind that event. No, he didn't so why treat him or her as if they did do it. STOP RACISM. Just remember that Mexicans are not the only ones getting into this country illegally. You have plenty of other nationalities here illegally. Honestly, how many of you Americans would actually take some of the jobs that Mexicans take?......Exactly......I wait to see the day when a American man/woman picks vegetables on a farm or cut the grass in an industrial area for the same pay as a legal or illegal immigrant......Face it..... you need us, build your wall, but the new crossing zone will be beyond the 701st mile......

I do not know if holding hands will work. I want to say that even building a wall all along can not stop all illegal entries. We have to take this problem as human and solve it in an intelligent way so that you turn this problem to your advantage. The rule could be such that they could enter work certain types of jobs for say 3years and leave the country. It will be illegal to work beyond that period. This way you will have a force which is economical to take on all the unskilled jobs which will contribute to your productivity.

what's superb AND maximum useful thank you to unravel THE countries' BORDERS problems? Unemployment regrettably. this is already working. Many illegals are leaving the rustic because of the fact unemployment is skyrocketing in many states alongside with Michigan and California. usa of america is crumbling and you may thank the GOP and Bush for working the rustic into the floor for the final 30 years.

Looks like we are 1300 miles short of fencing. but without enforcement it will be of limited value. Even the obvious need for penalties to be levied upon those who employ illegals will not protect us from the terrorists, criminals and drug smugglers.
