I stopped going there after a month because it seemed like a bunch of pseudo religious cult-like BS. /they have this type of language they all talk in that I called.."taliking in bumber stickers" I think it is onlky good for people whom like to hear thier own voice when they complain. The studies have shown the program to be a failure...why do therapists and doctors still recommend it? click the link. No AA nazis or religion pushers please

Maybe people in the group make it BS. Could you find another group that might help?

Anything is BS if you are not into. If you don't want to help yourself or feel it isn't working for you to go to groups try doing something else to help yourself, such as reading books on alcolhism. Or self help books that help you focus on other aspects of your life rather than drinking. What seemed to help me in a similar situation was to look at pictures of years of damage in the organs. Believe me, I stopped cold turkey and picked up chewing gum!

Not you again. If you don't like AA, then fine...don't go.

The orange papers....LOL What a joke. I have talked personally with the guy who wrote them. Everything he has written in those papers is incorrect and its just lies. He's a nut-job who is trying to take the most successful alcohol program in the world and discredit it. It's not going to happen.

you honestly just have to find the right place. my neighbor was in that program and her so-called sponsor, told some people things about my neighbor that were supposed to be in confidence. she also called my neighbor's probation officer and told him that she was drinking. this lady also accused me of some nasty things just because in her opinion "i didnt look healthy". and if AA is not working for you, you could maybe try counseling if your insurance covers it. just make sure you find a therapist/counselor that will listen to you and what YOU want to talk about and this person must not be the type to chastise you for the things you do in your life. my neighbor's therapist actually told her to stop going to AA because of this nasty person.

For some people it works and for some it may not.

If you have a problem, deal with it.
