Is your son sick now? I have several tattoos and plan on getting more. I also have three children and one on the way and it hasn't stopped me from planning my next one after the baby is born. Also, I do know that if you plan on donating blood to the red cross blood drives, you can't donate until I think it's either 6 or 12 months after a tattoo or piercing. After that time period, it's okay to give blood. But in the event of an emergency, your blood would still be tested before you gave to your son, regardless of tattoos or not.

How old are you that your dad is still telling you what you should or should not do? If your son is sick now, I would wait, but that is my opinion. If your son isn't sick, and is healthy as can be, I see no reason why you shouldn't get one. My kids are 1 and 4 and I am planning on getting another tattoo after we go home for the holidays visiting the in-laws (my christmas present from my hubby) There is no reason why you shouldn't get one, as long as you are 100% sure that you want one, you are 100% sure on where you want it, and you have tthe money to pay for it. Once you decide what you want, wait a few months to be sure it is exavtly what you want, just to make sure you aren't making a mistake. When I got my first 2, I decided what I wanted, priced them at the tattoo parlor, did a bunch of research on how they clean their needles and such, then about 6 months later (after I turned 18...lol) I went and got it done with a friend. If you are nervous about getting it done at all, have a close friend go with you. Most times, they will be great moral support, and if you have friends like mine, they will get one done with you. :)
Good luck, and I hope you like your new tattoo.

It sounds like your dad is just trying to trick you into not getting a tattoo. When I started talking about getting one way back when, my mom told me my leg was going to rot off. That was 10 years ago, and OH, still have my leg!!
I also have a 5 year old son, and I now have 4 tattoos. He thinks they are cool. My husband has 6, and the both of us want more. Just because you are a parent does not mean you can't get a tattoo, or a piercing, dye your hair a funky color or whatever you want to do to express yourself. You are still a person, no matter what. Your dad needs to quit trying to tell you what to do. If you are old enough to be a parent, then you are old enough to get a tattoo without him saying its cool.

As for any tattoo, you can't give blood for up to 6 months, it used to be 12 - I guess depending on where you live too. But after the time period has passed, you should be good to go. If a tattoo meant that you could never give blood, there'd be no one giving it, because seems like every second person has one.

It will have to be anything that every of you revel in. and a photograph that may be "reduce" in part, in order that whilst the 2 of you're in combination it may be obvious as a entire. A photograph or word that's huge to the 2 of you. A well one is: Those That Would Give Up Essential Liberties For Temporary Safety, Deserve Neither Liberty Nor Safety! (Ben Franklin) I would remember anything like that besides he's 15 months as a substitute than 15 years.

That's b/s....if your son needs blood for the first year after having your tattoo then it's true you can't donate to him but only during that first year! I have one and my husband has one...we recently had a daughter and my husband is getting his second soon and I'll get mine sometime in the spring. If it's what you really want then go for it!

My husband is a physician and that is NOT true..the only reason you would not be able to donate blood is if your tat was infected, but it does not taint your blood. I would wait until it was healed, but that is the same with any disease or illness, you would need antibiotics to clear up an infection, but even then it's only 10 days..

I have two and has both before either of my children were born.... If the shop is clean they should be no issues with you health.
Before you sit down in the chair, make sure that there is not cross contamination. The ink is not reused, needles are new and thrown away after they are used. Clean environment.
