Castrating these boys will held deplete the testosterone flooding their aggression. Granted it might not stop the aggression totally but there will not be the hormones intigating this reaction.

She may need to find a home for one of the dogs, esp if she doesn't have the time to work with both of the dogs. It doesn't sound like much of a quality of life for them and alot of un-needed stress when one is out and the other isn't, and drawing blood from each other during their tifts.

She might even try socializing them at an obienece class, and if she provides a release (exerscise, some kind of activity that will provide physical stimulation as well as eviromental stimulation) that might be a good way to get the aggression out of them and maybe they will play nice after that.

A few suggestions, but a professional dog trainer would be better to physically assess both the dogs and provide a more acurate game plan for these fiesty - fighty fellas. There is hope, have her make an appointment with a dog trainer.

I hope all goes well!

Neutering does help but they might be two alpha dogs, and that is a problem. They will constantly fight to take the top position and it is true with any breed. You can not have two alphas living in the same household. I have a 1 year old Lab who is the alpha of a huge 4 year old Pit Bull. The Pit Bull was in our household long before the Lab, but the Lab is just more dominating and the Pit has not desire to have control. The Lab will takes whatever the Pit has including food and since the Pit sees the Lab has the alpha he makes no fuss over it. But now if the Pit was an alpha we would have serious problems. The fact that they are both unentered adds to the problem and it will probally be impossible to resolve. He should have had them neutered along time ago.

This is same sex aggression and it is common in dominant assertive aggressive breeds of dogs.
You can not prevent it even if you neuter the males they will most likely still fight. Some breeds two males can not be kept together in the same home they must be kept seperate.
That is why many breeds only keep females and have only one male or use a stud dog as they can not have peace in the home and keep two males.
Seperate the dogs all the time and you will not have fights other than that place one dog in another home.

Get rid of one before something really terrible happens. You'll never find a way to prevent them from fighting each other-It's in their nature. They will always have to be separated(especially males).I've seen 2 male pit/rottis going at it and it really was horrifying. They damn near ripped each other to pieces. They were in so much pain that they were going out of the mind. They had to be put down but not before they endured all that senseless pain.Dogs feel too.Call a trainer for advice.

Ask yourself do you really love them? Vet bills can get outrageous and if you have to keep taking them to the vet for bite marks and cuts and bruises eventually the vet will report abuse or neglect and thats a bigger headache. Getting the dogs fixed will not cure there tenacity to scufill with each other. I have 2 rotties now and bred 13 pittbulls. Liter mates or not,if they dont get along now they never will. tell your neighbor to make a choice. It hurts but you cant enjoy your pets like that.

They are going to always fight. It's a male domination thing with them! We have an American Bulldog, other female dogs, cats, horses, kids everything else can come in the yard but if he even hears another male dog barking he goes in for the kill!

They will continue to fight anytime they are near each other. With males or females somebody has to be the one in charge and both of these dogs want to be the top dog. Better keep them separated.

absolutely nothing. Having 2 agressive male dogs is never a good idea not only could the dogs get hurt but so could you trying to break up a fight I suggest getting rid of 1 of them.

They are each trying to be the dominant dog. They are pack animals and it's their instinct to have a leader in the pack. They are both young males and they both want that status. Either get rid of one, constantly keep them separated or risk having one end up worse then a few stitches.

dogs of that mixed breed are going to fight. You have 2 dominate breeds and getting them fixed will help but your best bet would be to get rid of one of them. If your neighbor did not have them from birth, no telling what kind of life they had before your neighbor got them. If they were used as fighting dogs there is no hope for them. You can try getting them to a trainer and see if they can help with behavior problems but it will be costly. And there are no guarantees.
