White, any Chardoney if you are going to have any white meat... Fish or Chicken
If you go for red meat, or steak, go for a Merlot, from Chile and or Argentina, many brands available in the market...

It depends on what youre eating and what kind of wine you like. Here are generally safe choices if you dont know much:
Red - Pinot Noir, Cab Franc; both are on the lighter side
White - Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay (Chard is usually buttery and has oak flavors)

Depends on what you are eating... Merlot for red is good and Chardonnay for white... You can check in google to see exactly which wine goes with which food..

I'd probably like a pinto gris/grigio. Or a sparkling wine. My husband doesn't drink wine, he likes port.
All the wine rules have changed, now it's "drink whatever you like".

Zinfadel. Goes nice with whatever you are serving. Light. Not too bitter.
