It's not just what you're eating but also what you're drinking. If you're hitting the booze or soft drinks as a compensation for feeling full, you're also taking in a lot of sugar.

Also, if you've increased your exercise then you may be building muscle which is heavier than fat.

Ask your doctor to put you in touch with a dietitian.

If you eat too little, your body goes into starvation mode and greedily hangs on to every last bit of body fat you have, as well as most of the water you drink. It's preparing for a long siege without food and water, and you end up gaining weight as a result. Here's a few tips: (1) NEVER go below 1,500 calories a day if you're a woman or 1,800 calories a day if you're a man. (2) Eat breakfast EVERY DAY within 90 minutes of waking up -- people who don't are 450% more likely to be overweight. (3) Eat six small meals a day instead of three square meals a day -- eating less but more often keeps your metabolism running higher, but if you eat too much at one sitting your body stores the calories you don't need right away as fat. (4) Do SOME type of exercise EVERY DAY, even if it's just a 15-minute walk around the block -- exercise ramps up your metabolism, but missing even one day can slow your metabolism back down.

The less you eat, the slower your metabolism becomes. Basically, your metabolism is the system that converts food into energy. if you keep a steady supply of food going to your stomach, your metabolism is always going, and it converts food faster. If you eat less, (a) your metabolism has a chance to slow down, therefore every time you DO eat, it has to start back up, by which stage some of your food has already been stored as fat for future use, and (b) if you leave your metabolism with nothing to do for too long, it goes into starvation mode, so instead of immediately converting food into energy to be used now, it hoardes it as fat for future use just in case you starve it again! The healthiest thing you can do it eat small amounts of food every 3-4 hours. Make sure you have the right balance of protein, veg, carbs and fat, and if you're going to have fats, make sure they're good ones like avocado, nuts and olive oils rather than saturated, processed fats like the ones found in biscuits, sweets, crisps etc

Cause....1). Irregular eating patterns put your body into survival mode, causing your body to burn muscle at a greater rate than fat. 2). Proper diet is the key. This is not a diet in conventional terms. Rather a way of life. You should pick and choose certain foods based not just on their calorie count but based on their nutritional value. Then at that point consider rationing the amount. In this respect it isn't so important how much, but what.

Probly because when you do eat, your not eating the right foods., Plus you should eat something every three hours(Like fruit, or some light snack) To keep your metabolism up. Or your body will store the food, and make you gain weight.

First of all, you should go and visit your doctor. Perhaps you have a problem with your thyroid. Try eating small portions throughout the day. It keeps your metabolism going. Eating less doesn't guarantee weight loss

Because longer you stay without eating, more your body tries to stock up when you eat. If you don't want to put on weight, try eating small portions of healthy food regularly, and do not skip break fast.

your body goes into famine mode and stores all the nutrients in anything you ever feed it because it does not know when it will next get a supply and then it starts eating you when it has run out.
you would be better eating regularly some thing like weight watchers would give you a good and balanced diet.

Because when you begin to starve yourself your body goes into safety mode. Slowing down the metabolism, and storing any excess calories it recieves as fat. To lose weight you need to cut down on not only just calories. But fat intake, you need to eat lots of small meals a day, and keep active to make sure your body stays out of starvation mode.

because you are teaching your body to hold on to whatever you do eat - your body is more reluctant to let go of stored calories, fat, etc, b/c you've taught it that it cannot rely on getting regular intake of food. If you're trying to lose weight you need to eat 3 balanced meals a day to keep your metabolism running high. Not to mention anorexia screws with your brain, heart, liver, etc. Just go on a diet don't starve yourself.
