You guys have been quiet. Or I've been in the wrong forum. I no so little about Wicca. I'm curious about your views on Salvation and Afterlife. Do you have a holy book that you read from? Any thing you could tell me would be appreciated, thankyou.

P.S. This is a serious question, not ment for Christian or Muslims to try to " convert" anyone. So back off, guys.

I don't need to be "lead to the truth of christ", thanks. I found my own truth, you have yours, I have mine. Leave me alone about it.

No, we don't need salvation. Harm None and Whatever you do comes back to you. We don't need to be punished on death because the punishment will come during life. It's the way the law of three works.

No, we don't have a holy book. We do have a book that we create called a Book of Shadows, but that's a personal creation. Mostly it's to record our spells, and rituals and our own personal thoughts on the god and goddess.

But it's all created by each individual wiccan. There are no set ways of doing anything.

As for the afterlife... some wiccans believe in the summerland (something like heaven, only accessible by anyone that dies. Remember, we have no "salvation" and no punishment after death) and others don't. Almost all of us believe in ghosts and spirits. Most feel that, once you die, your body simply goes back to nature. It decays and feeds the life of other things. That's not a bad thing, just natural. Some will tell you that we are reincarnated into another life, others will tell you that, even though some of us become ghosts, most simply become one with everything that is nature.

For me, I believe that some people become ghosts if they're death was a particularly traumatic one. We're all made of energy though (just like everything else) and eventually all ghosts pass into nature. Just like all other people on death. They're never really gone, just part of everything but no conciousness. I'm not too sure about reincarnation but I don't rule it out.

Some believe in an afterlife of sorts called the Summerlands. Some don't. Some believe in reicarnation. I don't know any that believe in a salvation of any kind. We as a whole do not have a holy book we read from or worship or anything like that. We do have our books that we create called the Book of Shadows which is called that because it was kept in hidden places during the burning times (witch trials). It is usually filled with hints and helpful knowlege regarding uses for herbs, oils, receipes and "spells".

We usually are fairly quiet in nature. We don't generally feel the need to broadcast our beliefs or try to convert anyone. Most, if not all, believe there is more than one path through life whether it be towards an afterlife, reincarnation or merely spiritual and intellectual enlightenment.

Blessed Be

I hope I have answered your questions.

Salvation is a Christian principle and comes from the belief that you can burn in hell. As a follower of the path of Wicca, I do not believe in the devil or hell or the concept of burning in hell forever, so salvation is not a word I use to describe any of my beliefs.

Basically the wicca belief is that we are reincarnated and live many lives until we have learned all that we are meant to learn then some believe we go on to become a part of the full diety again.

The belief in a summerland is the closest thing to a heaven Wiccans believe in and that varies with the individual.

Karma is the divine justice of our actions. Whatever we send out we recieve many times over. If we do good, we recieve back good and if we do negative things or bad things we will recieve back bad many times over.

The rule of three suggests that we get back what we give three times over. Some believe this to be a literal three times and others believe it to be multiple times.

It is also believed that Karma can follow us from life to life and if we were really bad people in a past life, we can suffer in this life.

We have no holy book we read from. We get our knowledge by communing with nature.

You are in the correct forum. We tend to hang back a bit.
We do not have a sacred text.
Most of us believe in an afterlife of some sort. I myself believe in reincarnation as evidenced to me in nature. I do not believe I will reincarnate for eternity, I do believe that when my soul is ready I will retire to the Summerland, Avalon.
We all share some basic beliefs, but I don't think there are two of us that think exactly alike.

Don't believe I need to be saved from anything. I find it odd that one needs to be saved from the life their God(s) give them. As for an Afterlife, I really don't know. I lean towards reincarnation, but only as far as the energy of life goes... I am not so sure about memories, etc... as that is mainly a function of the brain itself... and brains do not get reincarnated.

Wiccan beliefs vary greatly from person to person... especially from Tradition to Tradition. I'm Solitary, so you can't rely on my answer to be universal throughout Traditions or even other Solitary Wiccans.

I appreciate you curiousity. No, we do not have an official text for our religion. However we do have what's called a book of shadows. This is where you might find your great grandmothers notes on the religion from when she was practicing. It's like learning from those who came before us. :D
