If you are talking about oral herpes as in cold sores and herpes simplex (not the sexual kind), yes, they are highly contagious. Try your best to avoid splitting open your cold sores when you have them and do not touch them and then touch anything else. Wash the cold sore separately from the rest of your face, so that you do not spread the virus to your nose or eyes. And, yes, it can spread to your eyes or nose if you are not careful. Unfortunately, I found this out the hard way. Herpes near the eye or at the tip of your nose is very dangerous and must be checked asap by an opthamologist at each occurence, as these type of herpes can lead to blindness.

As for your child, if we are still talking about cold sores, than, yes, the child can get it from you if you are not careful with your handwashing, cup and spoon washing, and kissing.

I got diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about 4 years back, when I was still attending college and had a dumb one-night stand. I realize a lot of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone who has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/i4Nve everything improved.

Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the herpes virus from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This program provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love again. Now I hope that I can help others by sharing this story.

If that person has herpes it can be transfered only when they are having a outbreak. if you have a herpe and kiss someone and they have a open sore that is not a good thing.. we all have herpe outbreaks once in awhile. From what i know is we all carry the virus.

By oral herpes, I assume you mean a "cold sore". The answer to the first part of your question is 'yes', you can transmit it to a partner if you have a blister. (You can also transmit it to your partners' genitals through oral sex).

Yes, it can be transmitted to the partner. As for an unborn child, an article I found on www.webmd.com says that if you have a c-section you can reduce the risk.
