I have an 8 week old yellow lab--she has never pooped inside and now she even barks/wines and waits by the door to go out if she needs to poop; however, she still pees whenever she wants to inside! she also pees in her crate...any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

A good rule of thumb is that a puppy can only 'hold it' as many hours as they are months old-- so your puppy probably is physically uncomfortable after 2 hours.

Aside from that, they dont have the bladder control of an older dog even BEFORE 2 hours-- its possible your puppy wants to hold it but cant'.

Take her out atleast once an hour, and praise her if she pees outside....dont get too angry if she goes inside-- its too hard for her to hold it.

She pees inside as she wants to be comfortable in her surroundings in other words if the home smells of her it is her territory.
I would get newspaper and put it over where she pees and when she pees on the paper slowly move it towards the door, she will eventually get the idea also when she pees in the right place be it outside or newspaper make sure you give her lots of praise. This worked for my puppy

Puppies are like children in a lot of ways. They have a hard time feeling the urge to pee. Some children (especially boys wet the bed at night) until age of 12 or 13. Same can be said of dogs.So it is a Good idea to be able to watch them or kennel when you are not available. I personally do not believe in paper training because it seems to encourage bad habits once you think the training is done.

My Father has a dog. As long as she is taken out on a regular cycle she does really good. It's like she knows that going outside is for one purpose.
But there are times when we miss that time and she does her thing inside.
I think maybe for Sadie it's about the environment and timing. Maybe you could try to do the same for your dog.
Just start taking your dog out at certain times and see if he or she can get the message. It could be the answer.
Having a pet is not a easy thing but worth it in the end.
