My 14 year old son is about to get contacts and thinking about comfort but also expense what type is the best way to go monthly disposable or i even heard there is a yearly kind

Definitely go for the monthly disposal (or 2-3 weeks)
I use Sofmed and they are comfortable and I like them. It only cost me $18 for 6 lenses. (America's Best)
If he has astigmatism it will cost roughly twice that for 6 lenses.
Do not get yearly kind.
And do not get extended wear. Just make your son suck it up and take them out to clean every night.
Use ONLY hydrogen peroxide solutions to clean them.
Don't be fooled by those all-in-one cleaner and rinse solution, (especially for a 14 year old)
The hydrogen peroxide solutions KILL all germs. Far less incidence of eye infections.
I use a product called UltraCare for that.
A yearly supply of cleaning solutions end up costing about the same as the lenses.

my boyfriend uses the bosch and lomb soft lens contacts...and loves them...he says he can never feel them and they are 1 month disposables. You can also check on line also for a discounted price for your monthly contacts...like 1-800-contacts or something like that...also, if he decides he wants glasses for a break from contacts...there is a website .....

I've had good luck with Acuvue, but it depends on the person. Most optometrists will give you samples until you find one you are comfortable with. Take advantage of this and try several different kinds before you settle on one...

Acuvue is a good brand, is also one of the least expensive. I've used them for 8 years!
