According to this administration, Americans are idiots, and the hand is quicker than the eye. Iraq has nothing to do with this fence. All anyone has to do is dig another tunnel (there is a link below). The fighting in Iraq was happening before we invaded, and it will continue to happen after we return to the states. Osama Bin Laden, Al-Qaeda, and similar groups should be the priority; and they should have been from the beginning.
The president and his administration will not do anything until there is a demand. Anyone can come and go in and out of this country as they please. So if they can get the country to believe that this fence will help protect us, they believe that they are accomplishing something. It is simply not true. You know it. I know it. Other not so gullible people know it. This is ridiculous. What security measures have been put into place? Almost nothing has been done. Flag-draped coffins are returning in droves along with wounded military, and the commander in chief can do it talk big and do little (except ask for more money to keep troops in a place where they are not wanted or accepted).
The bottom link is for the for the 9/11 commission reports...What do you think?

Actually, the same bill that funds 1.2 million for 'fences or barriers' on the border also funds 5.2 billion for sensors and cameras on BOTH our borders.
Only on the southern border do we have so many coming so quickly that our border officers literally cannot chase them all. You don't put a tourniquet on both legs if only one is severed. You use the best solution for the individual circumstance.
Also, while terrorists are known to have snuck across the southern border, per recent testimony at a House Hearing, illegal immigration isn't exactly trivial. 9000 Americans are killed every year by illegal immigrants according to figures I've seen, which is far more than died on 9/11. In addition we spend billions and billions on them every year, and our schools and health care are failing our own people.
Sure sounds like something that needs action, to me!

AMEN BROTHER YOU SPEAK WITH TRUE WISDOM.
I am in agreement with many that we must control our borders. It is a national security issue and the drug lords freely pass drugs into the United States. Okay but we have problems on both sides of the "fence". The "fence" will not stop the corruption of US Officials who allow these drugs to be passed. These same officials will have a key to open that "border fence" to admit the drug lords but will not permit the passage of the poor illegal immigrant that came to clean up your buildings instead of blowing them up. Why do so many drugs come into the United States? The answer supply and demand. We need these illegal immigrants to work the jobs that our so drug addicted nation will not fill. WE NEED COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM. We do not need to repair the damaged levy by placing our finger in the hole. We need to repair the entire levy. DON'T let these politicians keep you ignorant....This whole smoke screen/border fence is just a ploy to get them reelected. These same politicians know that we need this "illegal" work force just as much as they need us.....Think.....if it were not true would it have taken them so long to do something about it. NO it wouldn't have. The 911 incident caused us all to think....but did the illegal alien mastermind that event. No, he didn't so why treat him or her as if they did do it. STOP RACISM. HUG AN ILLEGAL ALIEN TODAY & FIGHT TERRORISM BE DEPORTING TERRORISTS

You are wrong! The border fence is mostly about simple illegal immigration and it is a good idea for that reason alone. It is also a terrorism issue as well. Yes terrorists and illegals can enter through many locations in our country but it is not even disputed by your crazed liberal party that almost all of illegal immigration comes through this specific area of the US Mexico border. In Canada we have a neighbor that is at least willing to work with us to help both countries administer their immigration law. In Mexico we have a country that encourages their nationals to flaunt our laws, come illegally to our lands and claim that they really belong to Mexico anyway. In Mexico we have a neighbor that has shown they are willing to do nothing to help stem the tide across that border, whether or not they are Mexicans, Venezuelans, Panamanians or Iranians. Terrorists know that is the weak link and they will use it.
Your immigration stance is only as strong as it's weakest link and America is addressing it's weakest link. And yes, stemming the tide of illegal immigrants has a lot to do with keeping terrorists out of this country. It's not only Mexicans crossing that border and Mexico is not willing to do anything to stop it.

The great wall in China is the good example. Since the wall builded, invastors came every decades. If the neigbour countries cannot be riched, do you think that there will not be thiefed and burglared? Strong up the country is not by force; is to rich up people, is to rich up people of neigbour countries.

Terrorism is an international problem, illegal immigrants is a domestic problem. Terrorism will always be an issue until the U.S. captures all of Al-Qaida's militants.
