particularly, many Amish communities do in actuality have desktops -- and telephones, or perhaps an area vehicle for emergency use. The Amish community isn't as ludite as they're generally looked as though it would be. The question the Amish ask some technologies isn't, "is it technologies," yet, "does this technologies build up or divide the community?" A secondary question is, "How can we assure we are in a position to own and function this by using paying in complete up front in view that we can't enter any debt?" a working laptop or laptop controlled milling device, as an occasion, may be considered as some thing that builds up the community -- as long because it is used for milling and not, oh, say, enjoying international of Warcraft. Many Amish communities have and function a minimum of one server, on which they run utility to sell their wares to an more desirable purpose industry. those structures tend to be powered by using gasoline means turbines, which permit them to purchase the generator (up front and in complete) and the gasoline (up front and in complete) in protecting with their custom to no longer be in debt. further, on the age of sixteen, maximum Amish babies are grew to become out of the community and despatched to stay with family individuals who've left the Amish way of existence, to journey the outdoors international, so as that no accusation could be made that the baby has no longer made an counseled selection of living the Amish existence into adulthood. opposite on your undesirable attempt at humor, any a sort of persons could somewhat answer your question and be justifiably Amish even nonetheless they're dealing with their outdoors journey. in spite of the undeniable fact that, Yahoo! solutions may be a divisive use of laptop technologies, so I doubt you will discover any of the actively-Amish persons here.

Amish use technology everyday, the wheel, the shovel, stoves, iron and steel tools...all technology.
Their blind adherence to religion prevents them from moving forward, which is of course typical of most religions in one way or another.

Of course they utilize modern technology. They choose to live their lives without modern conveniences, but that doesn't mean that they forgo all modern ways. This is the 21st century, and there are areas to which they have chosen to adapt, without going against their basic principles.

I think maybe they don't use our technology, its their belief and they should be respected for that, what has happened is a tragedy these families abhor violence in any shape or form and for the lives of these children to end in such a manor should have every one up in arms.

I am sure most would join with me in wishing the families our support and prayers

I think they can. But most Amish are against modern technology. They think if someone dies it's the will of God.
