You really need to be disciplined about your work habits. First, you want to play as often as possible, so go to the park, to the beach, ask your coach to have a volleyball only P.E. class, or just play by yourself.

You really need to practice your fundamentals. Work on your passing platform (you can do this by having someone serve or throw balls at you, or you can practice bumping against a wall. Make sure to look at yourself in the mirror and see if your arms and body are in the right position for passing, like being low, arms straight, and moving your feet).

You can set against a wall as well. If you want to get really good at setting, try to build up the amount of times you can set yourself straight up without looking. Remember, make sure you are using the right form, such as facing your target and using all of your fingers to set.

Practice your hitting approach slowly, and then build up to full speed. When you do finally work on hitting, make sure your arm is high, don't drop your elbow, and make sure you are following the proper steps.

You also need to condition. You need to jump everyday. Lift weights, working everything, not just your legs. Do conditioning: lunges, sprints, everything!

Good luck and work hard!

well if you are still in hs you can join a Junior Olympic team, at least in Ohio you can! It cost some money but you get to play year round and colleges come to the events to look at what is coming up (thats how I got my scholarship (as you coach he/she should know something about it, and if not go to other local schools and talk to their coaches) cant hurt! And if you get cut don't stop trying im 6'2" with no coordination, got cut in 7th and 8th grade (I wasn't that tall than) my freshman year I was the last to make the freshman team and that summer I join a junior olympic team and that school year I never even played JV I started on Varsity and ended with a scholorship!!!!! Mike Jordon got cut a bball, dont let yourself get down try try and try somemore, you will get where you want to be!!!!! And If you don't at least you can say you really tried!

I love volleyball very much.
Im only 14 but yet I know so much about it.
Im 100% dedicated to it!
I love it. Its my favorite thing to do.
Now time to help you!
Okay I know you said not to tell you
to practice but im going too! Okay?

First off, NEVER EVER say you suck or I can't you need a high esteam to do good. No one sucks! Trust me! Never bring yourself down it wont help! My coach taught us that and if we said we sucked or I cant we had to run and do push ups and sit ups!

Now, you must PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
(alot)

You need to work on your Volleyball Drills. You need a good practice.
A good practice usally consists of:
A good warm up.(stretching the calfs ect...just so you don't pull a muscle)
Practice your bumps, sets and spikes.
Make sure your on the tips of your toes and ready to move towards that ball!
Also always call the ball like "GOT IT" or "MINE"
okay?

play it all year round! that will keep you in shape and you will learn so much from all the different leagues and what not that you're in. you get a lot of experience so when the official volleyball season rolls around you'll be good to go!
