[X] You will need to get in touch with the Health Department in your area. They usually have slots opened for need patients. If you can get a letter from the dentist as to medical need and documentation of the lack of money, the help is there. Being poor is no reason to not have medical and dental care; so don't allow it to be so.

RE:
How can I afford braces?
I am very self conscious of my teeth but I my parents can't afford braces for me. I am willing to work and pay for them, but I am already paying for my car and helping pay the bills. I'm only 16 so I don't make that much money anyway. . . So what can I do? My teeth need to be fixed bad...

I would recommend checking with an orthodontist's office and ask about payment plans (almost all let you pay it out over the treatment time) and ask your parents if they will pay part if you also pay a part. Paid out over a couple of years this may be affordable. Also you can check companies such as Care Credit that offers extended payment plan to cover dental services. Good luck.

Talk with your parents and the ortho. They are usually cheap payment plans available. I understand, I waited until I was 18 to get braces and my parents split me 50/50. Its a burden, so be ready to make payments when you start, or it will only prolong your treatment. Best of luck!!

you should check out this discount plan. It saved my daughter over $800 on her braces.
They offer discounts on all dental services if you join their plan.
Check out the website: www.mybenefitsplus.com/40391741
Then click on Locate A Provider and it will list all the dentists in your area
It's only $11.95 a month

Lanny J mentioned Care Credit. This is an excellent option but you need to be 18. Maybe your parents would open the credit acct and let you make the payments.

Wait till you can afford it. You can make payments, but theyll require money down. I would just wait till you have the money.

Shame on them. It's THEIR responsibility to see you have dental care. Your parents are shirking their responsibility. If I couldn't afford to buy braces for my kid I'd get a second job.
