I want to get L&P online without having to use a site based in NZ because shipping costs are so high.

If you're in a big enough metropolitan area - you could well find there are local shops for things from Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. For example we can pick up L&P at a nearby Tongan marketplace - in California.
As far as buying it online - I think you'll find any site, even in your own country, is going to charge a lot for shipping - bottles of liquids are (relatively speaking) heavy!

You don't say which country you're in, but last time I was in London, NZ House ran a shop where you could get good things like Vegemite and hokey pokey ice cream. Try your nearest NZ House or embassy.

even if you order it on-line, where do you suppose it will be shipped from? New Zealand?
there's a shop in Sydney selling NZ foods.

Yes, if you goto a New-Zealand Ice-Cream store they sell it there and its fairly priced.
