Sounds like a reasonable price for a really good homemade loaf of bread. I'd pay it.

i make bread in a canadian style oven for farmer's markets and charge between 4-5 dollars per loaf. it's a lot of time and labor, which i think most people don't realize.

Not all the time. But if it had a great fiber count and low carb count I might. I pay $2.50 a small loaf for my double fiber bread so its not a stretch.

Depends on how big the loaf is, and what it's flavored with. Otherwise that's the going rate for artisanal breads in CA.

I pay $3.50 for a HUGE loaf of sourdough at Corner Bakery restaurant. That's about as high as I'll go, but I justify it b/c of the size.

No maybe 3.00 but I for one make my own because its cheaper than the store. Also make my own egg noodles, in fact its chicken and noodles for supper tonight, but do remember young people usually don't make anything from scratch so there is where your market will be.

If it tasted good, sure why not. But then again, I live in California where everything is expensive.
