oh i completely agree.... i belive one begets the other.. once you start searching for knowledge, for higher understanding of love, life, happiness, all things POSITIVE... i think it will truly lead u to spirituality..but even if it doesn't, that's not the point... at least if u've continued to search and learn all u can, how can ANYONE say that you are wrong???!
that's what is so sad about religion these days.. people are so used to regurgitated, digested information, and they don't do any searching and learning individually to seek MORE, and so they are stagnant...and actually STILL have the nerve to look down on others who are not of the same faith! for example, i'm a christian. only recently have i begun appreciating Christ and the Word, and seeing how amazing a lot of the comments and parables and verses are, and how they pertain to my life. before, i was an unhappy, lost person. now i have more purpose, to seek more knowledge, try to understand and apply all i can to my daily life, to become POsitive, Happy, JOyful, etc...!
the thing is, u shouldn't look down on someone who is not of the same faith or not at the same place as you. however, if u see a person who doesn't seek knowledge, and just sits there judging, how could u have any respect for that person?? but if u see someone who is constantly trying to attain knowledge, comprehend, apply, improve, u can hardly disrespect that person, whether or not they are pursuing knowledge in school, or a certain religion. i hope that makes sense...
all in all, i know a lot of people who are extremely negative because "they hate the world", the "world is against me". blah blah.. but there are so many good things, so many opportunites, especially here in america. how can we NOT appreciate this, and rejoice in it?? i love it, and it makes me happy to know that there is infinite ability to learn more things, u know? i will never achieve 100% of the knowledge, so that will keep me from becoming conceited. but it will always keep me thirsting for Love, Knowledge, Honor, Respect, all things Positive and Healthy. :) good luck to us all.. u can't force other people to change, but u can change Yourself first, and then lead by example. ~

Well, no, not symbolically dead, since people aren't symbols. Spiritually dead, yes. Arguably de-facto dead, maybe. One is not alive--that is, one does not enter fully into reality--until one seeks God. God is the giver of life--physical and spiritual. While one's body breathes, one's soul does not if it is not seeking God. The soul can be awakened through Christ. 'Til then, it is dormant, sleeping...but not dead-dead, since while the body breathes, there is the chance that the soul will yet awaken.

Seek and you shall find, knock and it will be opened unto you. seeking truth with purity of heart opens us to receive the truth, stop seeking and the access closes. ALL prosperity,be it money, knowledge or talent if you don't use what you are given then whatever you already have is taken away.

we are on this plane of existence to expand gaining wisdom and knowledge and teach what we have learned. the moment our physical container ceases to exist is when this learning process actually stops at least on this particular plane of existence.
