No... it is not SUPPOSED to be... but humanity cannot run away from the fact that we all need money. Money in itself is NOT EVIL... just like Nuclear Power. It can be used to purchase medicines and food as well as to purchase weapons of mass destruction. Nuclear energy can be used to power up machines but it can ALSO be used to destroy massed of people.
There is no such a thing as a free gift because someone else had to pay for it.... Same goes for free books, free food, free medicines offered by religious groups that help others.
Money can be used to to further kindness in us all.... or taint us with Pride and Haughtiness drunk in power and status.

Religion is about man reaching out to God, which, unfortunately, costs a LOT of money for whatever reason the preacher wants to give on any particular Sunday.

A relationship with JC involves every detail of a christian's life. So money is included too. Its a part & not the whole.

Probably mostly about power - being able to hold sway over the lives of other people. Many "priests" take an oath of poverty, but there are certainly "ministries" that obviously are obsessed with fleecing the flock.

9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
