When will a BMW 3-Series with an automatic convertible hardtop become available?

Volvo, Pontiac, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz, together with other European car manufacturers already build some models with automatic convertible hardtops. These models automatically separate the metal hardtop and rear window into three or four sections and then stow these sections on top of each other into the trunk. The entire mechanism is controlled by electrical motors in the system.

The best you can do is to put it your two cents to BMW. Do what you can to convince their product managers that there is a need for this feature in the 3-Series.

Actually, I'm thinking about getting the Nissan 350Z convertible instead. No, they don't have a hardcover, but it's better than the 3-Series and it's about the same price.

An automatic BMW sports car.... EWWWWWWWWW - what is the point! It is the ultimate driving machine with a manual why would you want auto????
