The best you can do is to put it your two cents to BMW. Do what you can to convince their product managers that there is a need for this feature in the 3-Series.

Actually, I'm thinking about getting the Nissan 350Z convertible instead. No, they don't have a hardcover, but it's better than the 3-Series and it's about the same price.
