That is absolutely ridiculous! This DOES NOT happen today as it is NOT good for your health (or life). You are referring to a "tapeworm."

As unlikely as this must sound (swallowing worms to loose weight), there might be some reason to believe tapeworm diet pills were once marketed in the Tapeworm diet pill cartoon United States between 1900 and 1920's. See my link below for more info!

Some people infect themselves with Tapeworms to aid weight lose. This works because the worm takes the nutrients from the food instead of that person. After a while the worm is removed, usually through a hole in the abdomen.

I am sure that there people out there (celebrities or not) who will try anything to lose weight.

Though eating live worms would not work. They would die from the acid in your stomach.
