I think women should have to do a little hard labor like the men do, it'll give them perspective.

But I don't think that's what you meant. I think you meant "Should women be allowed to serve?" In which case - first, they already are.
Second, I believe women should be made to understand a few things -
One: being a POW will be a little different for a woman, rape may be common place even for men.
TWO: Supply lines get cut, and it is a valid concern for the military that certain things like tampons may not be available.
THIRD: A woman should be required to perform just as a man is; lifting and stamina requirements. Women are not physically equal - they have smaller lung capacities and are less aggressive - something useful in battle. But if they actually want to go into a combat situation, can work on par with the men, and can accept some abuse both from their counterparts in uniform, and the enemy, then I say, "welcome aboard."

When this whole Iraqi thing started, I spoke to a guy who served with women in his combat unit. He commented that it was actually helpful to have women in infantry. The Iraqi's were dumbfounded when they saw an American woman opposing them, unafraid, shooting at them, they just sat there and watched.

Your question is not very direct.

It would be a sexist remark to say that women shouldn't.

It is an option, not something the military forces. Many women were insulted at the fact that just because they had breasts and a vagina, coudn't serve in the military. This is what they want.

I think they should be able to serve, but not in combat roles. The fact of the matter is pound for pound men are stronger than women, and there are some things that require strength that you would be asked to do in the should you be in a combat role.

i dont think they should be allowed to serve in any branch of the military. many expect special treatment shorter hours and they get pregnant and are a distraction and in my opinion bad for morale. the military should be men only. or atleast have units or ships whatever the case maybe thats soley women run so they arent around the men ever. i have a female friend in the army and she knows i feel this way and im not alone many woves feel this way because it tempts our husbands when deployed. its plain out wrong women shouldnt be in the military they are weak and expect too much special treatment exspecially if they have their period and i know a few who wont take their birth control which is required when in a deployable unit

It's tough on the guys when a gal gets zapped, tougher than when one of their own gets it. There are so many military functions that a woman can do well, why is it necessary to be in a combat role? It's not as though we have a shortage of guys to do the job!

It actually causes a severe moral problem for many units when one of their women get killed. i don't see that as positive contribution to the problem.

Anyone who wants to be in the military should be allowed. After all we're supposed to be the land of the free and home of the brave. Shouldn't that include women?

Absolutely not... Not in any branch. In the military women get away with too much and get too many favors. They get things easier just because the fact that they are a woman.
