me and my cousin are not leagaly related, as my mother was adopted out, but we are still a close knit family. Anyway, it turns out that my cousin got preganant by some guy at her school, and now welfare says that unless she gets married to someone she will lose the baby. I am the one person on earth she trusts to marry her on paper, live in the same house, but sleep in a different room, and keep treating her the way she deserves. She asked me if I would do this for her so she can keep her son Trevor, I just don't know what the rest of the family would say, and even if their opinion really matters, since I would be keeping a Jr. in the family...

I forgot to mention that I would be more than willing to pay child support for the kid. since I am already paying my cousin's rent. I also forgot to mention that the reason she trusts me to marry her but not touch her is that I have a partner named Jack.

I am actually married to my cousin by marriage, but it sounds like your situation is a little different. All I have to say is do what your heart and your mind tell you is right. No one else can answer this question as well as you can. Good luck and best wishes to both of you!

A very complicated question indeed. Firstly, I would not get married to this person for the sole reason of her keeping her child. That is trying to do the right thing but for the wrong reason.
Secondly, perhaps you can get other close family members together and do some brain-storming about this girls situation; you all may be able to come up with a decent solution to the problem.....good luck to you and your cousin, I hope it all works out.......just remember, GOD gave us mountains so we can learn how to climb :)

I don't think you should play around with marriage AND the government like that....
I hope your cousin is not trying to play you, and take you for half of your money and try to get child support.
What are you going to tell a female that you are interested in..."I'm married to my cousin, but we're just playing house, so don't worry about her or the kid, he ain't mine."
You want to do the right thing and help her, but is there another alternative that can be done, then something as serious as marriage and lying to the government?

never marry your own cousin blood related or not cause there would be to much stress in the family. and if she is only like 17 she doens't need kids she needs an education.. she shoud give her son up for adoption because she may not be able to take ccare of him and having a kid is an adult thing that teenagers think is good for them . mom and dad wont raise the kid you had it you take care of it . without money you got no chance in raising a son let alone taking care of him..

No welfare agency can say that unless the child lives in an unfit home. That means, they are abused, mother is a drug addict, no water or food, etc... Don't be played! She may seem fine now but you sign those papers and it will all change, I guarantee it!

WELFARE CAN NOT TAKE THE CHILD JUST BECAUSE SHE IS NOT MARRIED. THERE IS MORE TO THIS STORY.
DO WHAT EVER YOU THINK IS RIGHT. IT CAN'T BE ANYMORE DYSFUNCTIONAL THAN THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING NOW.
