I have experience with this. . .not really good.
You can do one of the demi-permanent colors and color it every month until it grows out, but you'd be better off going to a stylist and telling her exactly what you want.

Be very careful when putting dark color on your bleached blonde...I tried this before (2 times actually...) and it turned a dark brownish greenish color... I talked to my hair stylist about this and she said it would be best to use a semi-permanent color becasue the color will hold on to the bleach and shouldn't wash out. It may lighten up a bit though. And it won't damage the already bleached hair. They also recommend that you get a color with a tinge of red in it to offset the lack of pigment in the bleached hair. The red shouldn't really show up, but it will keep it from turning green. Definitely do a test strand of hair before you do your whole head! Good luck though!!!

Sometimes when you go from super light blonde to super rich dark brown you have to go slow. My hair is super light blonde and when I tried going dark brown in one step my hair turned blue! So the fist time you dye it try using a color thats close or a little bit lighter then your natural color so the hilights will hold color. Then a few weeks later use the color you like. And dont use feria, its a very strong hair dye and VERY damaging to your har, try something like nice and easy-the color always comes out great and you get natural hilights with that one.

Well, here is my experience: I have gone to darker colors and now my hair, as I wanted, is black. For going dark, all you need is to purchase a gentle hair color like Garnier Nutrisse cream or Loreal Excellence and cover your hair with the color. For lighter colors, I had to have it done at a hair salon. That was because they had to use bleach to get rid of my dark color.

OK. . i had the exact same dilemma, i had bleach blonde hair and wanted to go to brown......what i used was i loreal natural match, also make sure you get two boxes depending on how long your hair is, if its longer then your shoulders get two boxes. remember, you are trying to cover ALL the blonde and trust me its hard. also if you can find someone to help you put the dye on your hair it will be easier. my first experience i did it alone and i missed some spots in the back so when i picked up my hair i looked like a skunk...lol good luck and take my advice.

i have dark brown hair that i had bleached almost white once - changng to a new color was easy. as long as the new color you choose is darker than what you're covering, you should have no problems and it should look fine.
FYI - my fave box color is nutrisse (works great and lasts).

You might want to check out the websites for Clariol and L'oreal. They probably have some tips about this, and maybe a comment/question number on the box of dye.

Try www.robertcraig.com
His products don't use ammonia or peroxide - which means you can only go darker, but they have a wide range of shades to choose from and you can mix the shades to get a custom color.
I would start out with a lighter shade and gradually go darker.
