Why? I've had him for almost 2 years, since he was born. He bites everytime he is pet past his head.

The best advice that I can give you, is some cats are picky like this.

You may want to explore the possibility that he is possibly in pain somewhere on his back, maybe his spine (have you taken him to a vet)

Also, if they are not handled all over their bodies as babies, they will develop a habit such as this. Also, if you are allowing your cat to bite you, you do not have disciplinary measures in tact.

Proper disciplinary measures would be bopping your cat on the nose lightly and using an abrupt "NO". Eventually, they will get the idea that biting is a big NO NO.

You must continue to handle your cat if you wish this problem to be vanquished if possible. Keep handling your cat, wear gloves while he's getting used to it, bop him on the nose (i stress lightly) and use abrupt NO's.

Hope this helps.

He may have some fear issues left from the past or he could be hurting down his spine. You might have the vet do some x-rays if that can be in your budget.

There are chiropractors who work on animals too. So that is a possibility. I don't use them myself (for me) and I have had chiropractic work on one of my cats - which helped her.

These chiropractors must work through a vet office and the x-ray will be the first step.

Past his head forward or backwards.

If forward, I wouldn't want my nose pet either...

If backward, maybe he is playing? Maybe he just doesn't like being pet....

It probably isn't a real issue, just what the cat wants.

If this is new behavior, take him to the vet. Something hurts and he's trying to tell you.
That said, I had a cat just like this. You could scratch her head and that was it. If you touched anything else, she turned on you. She was that way her whole life, too.
Sorry.

So don't pet it there. Just keep your cat happy by petting and scratching its head.

That could just be his quirk. All cats have at least one quirk. However, my cat wouldn't let me get near her tail because her skin was sensitive there. I wouldn't have known that if I hadn't taken her to a vet. Perhaps your vet can give you some better answers.

SOME CATS LIKE IT AND SOME DON'T. I HAD A CAT THAT LIKED IT'S BELLY RUBBED AND THAT IT VERY UNUSUAL. I ALSO HAD A CAT IF YOU TOUCHED HIS TAIL HE WOULD BITE YOU. SOME CATS LIKE TO BE TOUCHED AND SOME DON'T. THAT'S WHY THEY ARE SO FINICKY, BUT I STILL LOVE CATS NO MATTER WHAT.
