Death is the opposite of life, there's nothing in between. Adventists teach that there are two deaths. The first one everyone dies and it's called a sleep because they believe in a resurrection. There are two resurrections. The first is for eternal life, but only 1000 years will be in paradise somewhere in outerspece because the New Jerusalem will descend to Earth. The other resurrection is for the second death which is permanent (you cease existing). They don't believe in hell, but they believe that the second death will involve being burned at your own grave and being nothing but ashes after that. The Earth also becomes new. They don't believe that you have a "soul" because they teach that you are a living dust being and the spirit animates you (a dust person). They emphasize that the spirit is NOT you. Conscious beings run on spirit energy, but they aren't spirits themselves. Only God is called spirit itself.

I believe good atheists will get eternal life :)

Hi Rocky:
Very good questions. I'll only answer one though.
You don't have a soul. You are a soul. The soul dies. Please read Ezek. 18:4. We do not have an immortal soul.
However, death is only temporary. Jesus said in John 5:28-29 that the day is coming in which all in the tombs will hear his voice and come out. So we can look forward to the day when our dead loved ones will come back to life. It is yet future, but it's not far off because we're deep into the last days. These resurrected ones will be among the living to live forever on a Paradise earth. Please read Psalm 37:29 which speaks about eternity on earth, not in Heaven.
In the meantime, our dead loved ones are just dead (Eccles. 9: 5&10). There is no thought process, no communicating, no punishment, no reward - just an awaiting the future resurrection.
- And that's not a bad hope. It's a wonderful one.

If this is what they believe , then they are not Christians at all. Sounds like a cult to me. I would show scripture to denounce this, here's the buts

!. They would not be interested in what the Bible says or they would have left this cult.
2. It would seem like I wrote a book.

There are two deaths , death of the body is the first death.
The second death is the death of the spirit, separation from God forever.

Paradise was eliminated when Jesus when into hell after the Crucifixion and set the old testament saints free and took them into heaven.

No one spoke more of hell than Jesus himself.

Your belief that good atheist get eternal life,SORRY

Jesus said there are no good men, Atheist or Christian.

There is only one way to eternal life and that is the blood of Jesus that was shed for his own , who know him as the good Shepherd

What he says is true to some sects of Christianity (including Jehovah's Witnesses). From a practical standpoint, it's little different than "traditional" Christianity.

It's not for us to say what lies beyond death. Heaven? Hell? We all get about 80 years on this planet, and we'll either wake up to something new, or we won't wake up at all. If we wake up, will it be to paradise? No. God says we are to be judged. If this happens immediately or in some indeterminable future is unknowable to humanity.

Live a Godly life. It's challenge enough without fretting about heaven and hell.

There are a LOT of Christian groups out there.

I follow the original Roman Catholic Church.

You can debate my beliefs all you want, you can even read what they are in a book, called the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

No Grey areas, no one leader saying one thing and another saying a different thing.

It is pretty cool really!

Peace!

We were given free will and where one takes that to is totally up to that individual. I am just glad that believing in the bible I don't worry about that cause I take Gods word to heart and I don't distort it nor change it to fit me.

To be christian is to follow the teachings of christ...and what you said makes no sense, in that christ specifically taught that there was life after death...hence the resurrection.

Try tinking about your questions before asking
