my skin on the back sides of my hands seems to be getting increasingly dry. and it seems like when i go out side in the cold they get this powdery white coating it happens wether its hot or cold, but it seems like it happens more when its cold. if i put mosterizer it goes away but it comes back eventually. at first i was worried i had scelraderma because there was this hard part but it was proably a callus because it has returned to normal. is this just normal dry skin that can be fixed with lotion or should i go to a doctor?

sounds like the beginning of Psoriasis. Moisturizers only help for a while, but it's not a dry skin "thing" it's a disease, so it won't get rid of it, it'sll just keep it from itching (if it does itch when it's flaky). Do some research on it and if you think you have it, see a Dermatologist. I've been battling it for 5 years now, and trust me, you want to catch it early.

Have you tried Gold Bond Lotion? It sounds strange but every winter that happens to my hands they get really dry and it's gross I have tried every lotion under the sun but Gold Bond lotion really works.
If it doesn't go away after a while then I would recommend a dermatologist.
