I thought I was getting my cable back today, but it's not so I'm stuck with this antennae for another few weeks at least. I don't know the brand but it plugs into the wall and has a big flat plastic dish-like thing in the middle and it lets you adjust the gain. Problem is it doesn't seem to get very good reception at all. Part of the problem is that we're on the bottom floor of an apartment and I think the wiring in other apartments may affect the signal sometimes. Is there something I can buy or do to boost the power of this anennae so I can watch TV without getting a headache?

Location is A big factor in antenna signal. Try to move it to another room. You may have to buy a Coax Jumper say 25 or 50 feet. If it is acceptable try to get signal from a tennant (Neighbor) from a higher dwelling until you get yours. a plitter and coax(again is need) run it outside the window temporarily, 3 Weeks is not going to kill anybody for temporary signal. Check to see if the apartment building has a Master antenna jacj available to connet to. this will save a lot of headaches.....Good luck!!

The best thing you can do is get the antenna as high as possible, and preferably near a window. It will be very sensitive to small changes in location an orientation, so you have to experiment. Different channels may require different locations.

The type of antenna is important. From what I have read, the Zenith Siver Sensor is the best indoor TV antenna available.

Anything you do to "boost" the signal (like an in-line amplifier) will not help a poor antenna signal.
