First don't forget that psychiatric medications have an effect on humans in specific methods. One antidepressant could also be a miracle medication for one character even as it makes nervousness worse for yet another. However, SSRIs, SNRIs (like Cymbalta), and TCAs (often referred to as the Tricyclic Antidepressants) are the pleasant medications for melancholy - in that order. They even have the probability of treating nervousness as good. Usually, when you fail to reply to 2 or extra antidepressants of 1 "magnificence" (i.e. SSRI) at more than a few doses - that "magnificence" would now not be proper for you. The most secure medications to begin on are the SSRIs like Zoloft, Prozac, and Paxil. Personally, I've determined Zoloft, Lexapro, and Cymbalta to just paintings slightly. I am presently on Luvox CR and it is helping with the repetitive issues however does not anything else). For nervousness, the benzodiazepines are the pleasant. However, there constantly should be a trap - they're addictive and purpose tolerance so that you hold on having to broaden the dose. They are most commonly rapid performing and paintings very good. If you've got panic assaults each as soon as in a even as, Xanax is the pleasant one. However, when you've got Panic Disorder or repetitive panic, Klonopin will also be higher. I am presently on a slight dose and it has quite helped. Still, be warned. THEY ARE ADDICTIVE and SHOULD BE USED SPARINGLY!! BuSpar is a non-addictive augmentation remedy (an upload-on for anti-depressants) that's intended to be well for nervousness. I attempted it for 3 weeks and not using a promise. Just extra complications. By the way in which, if you're having quite dangerous part results (similar to tiredness and difficulty determination-making) you must attempt to slowly lower the dose to the prior degree you have been on. It takes time (alas) to regulate to the remedy so wait 2 or extra weeks earlier than replacing the dose once more. I am NOT a general practitioner so ask your PCP or psychiatrist to support you with the specifics.

You really need to consult a psychiatrist if you want concrete answers for this. There are a LOT of drugs and some work in combination and some have wicked side effects and some just don't work. It may take a lot of trial and error to find the right combination or the correct drug for you. Personally, I stopped taking all drugs that were aimed at my depression and cured it by thinking positive, changing my lifestyle, changing my diet, and the people I associate with. In our society prescription drugs are pushed upon us daily but they are not always the answer. Try doing it without drugs and use drugs as a last resort not a first line of defense. And don't expect results overnight. It took a while for your depression to take hold so it's going to take a while for you to break its grip.

I always say exercise and fish oil for the natural approach, but it sounds to me like you may have a chemical imbalance in your brain. One of the brains most important chemicals is Seratonin, if you don't have enough of it, you will be cranky and depressed. A lot of those anti-depressants are seratonin re-uptake inhibitors, which means they are supposed to keep the seratonin your body produces in you brain longer, but if you are not producing enough seratonin in the first place, how can they help?? Make sure you are eating enough protien first of all, because the amino acids in protien are used to make these wonderful brain chemicals. I also suggest reading the book " The mood Cure", you can buy it over amazon. It is written by a doctor and has some amazingly useful info. One of the best things you can do though, is to exercise daily, exercise itself boosts Seratonin levels in the brain like nothing else. Using a sauna and whirlpool weekly helps you get a sense of well-being. The key is, if what you are doing in you life is not working, change those old habits and start new! Good luck!
