I really miss the faith healers like Earnest Angely and Jerry Fallwell... are they still around? They were great entertainment and always brought a smile to my face. I also miss all the scandals like embezzelment and sleeping with hookers!

Jail and fraud charges cost more than the money they could possibly abscond with. It's just not a profitable profession anymore.

Since when was Jerry Falwell a faith healer?

Televangelists are still around, usually on remote cable channels that most folks miss. My cable provider parks them between the home shopping and those public affairs things where the local municipality tells folks that main street will be closed Tuesday for restriping the center of the road. As for the embezzlement and sleeping with hookers, the real action is on the political news and business channels where politicians and big corporate CEOs were caught at this or that. Most of the real "faith healers" are pretty boring folk who sleep only with their own wives and only take what churches and individuals give to them, sorry.

Oh yes. They're still around. You should look up John of God. He pulls chicken livers out of people's noses and calls it a tumor.

I do enjoy the genuine healers. My friend was healed of dibilitating migrains at a healing mass. Another friend was healed of the effects of polio.

But the nut jobs will always ruin things.

There are people who are healers--you very seldom hear of them though. Many Catholic Masses are healing Masses where people are anointed and slain in the Spirit it is a very credible thing today--alive and vibrant

Faith healing was never supposed to be a profitable profession. Jesus and even the apostles, never accepted anything for healing people, nor did they demand it.
