when I make muffins, I use a block of normal milk choclate and cut it up into chunks. I've beem asked to make the muffins for a boy who is intolerant to milk, so can I take a bar of cooking chocolate, which I know has no milk in it, and use that instead?

do they have to be the same muffins you usually make? if not you could look for a vegan muffin recipe, that would be completely dairy free for him. just a thought...good luck

You mean unsweettened chocolate? No, it will taste awful.

Find a cookie recipe that calls for cocoa instead, adn use shortening instead of butter.
