Spraying the yard and house is a total waste of time and money, and toxic for you and the environment. If you want to get rid of fleas, get some advantage or program or similar topical medicine and put it on the dog. 90 percent of the fleas are on your dog and the other 10 percent are just waiting to get back on. Put something that works on the dog itself and you will get rid of every flea on your property and everyone that hops onto your dog after that.

The best & easiest for you to do initially is to contact an exterminator depending on the size of your yard.

Then for maintenance you can use any one of several products that are sold at a home centers that you hook up to a sprayer on your hose.

arsenic is VERY toxic and will remain in the soil. don't do it!

Go to your lawn supply store and look for a general insecticide. Follow label instructions.

Also be sure you're treating your pets and your carpeting at the same time.

P.S. They're FLEAS not FLEES :-)

Probably sevin spray is the most effective, and not as harmful to pets as most. Arsenic is toxic, gets in the groundwater and makes peopl ill. DO not use arsenic as it may also be illegal where you live. Treat your home and pets as well as their bedding with vet approved products.

Fleas are very hard to kill, the best that I would recommend is seven dust, make sure you rake it into the dirt as well as putting it on top. It is safe around animals. Arsenic is deadly to animals.
