OK. I have answered quite a few questions and in perusing the other peoples answers have seen some serious rudeness to people simply wishing a bit of advice. Why is it that someone wanting to know what to do for an eye infection in their kitten is told to give the kitten to someone more responsible? Obviously they are trying to be responsible by trying to find out what the infection is and if it is a serious issue or not. I do agree that most things need to go to the vet, but not all. Why are people so quick to snap-judge others?

Since a few don't seem to have realized the point of the question, I will clarify a bit. I was not talking about myself. I was refrencing another question, which I had answered, where I saw some very rude comments made. I see it quite often and simply don't understand why people have to be tht way. Yes, I know, "It's human nature".

You also have to remember the people that answer can NOT see the animal even if they are doctors to diagnose any of these problems. There are an awfully lot of people that will try anything to keep from spending money and some of the answers scare the heck out of me that someone might try them. And yes most of the smart *** answers are generated around the really stupid questions. Most of the questions that are genuine get enough good answers to inform. Also a lot of these questions are from small children and the parents don't even know there it a problem yet. We all have to put up with it and I have given short angry answers to the obvious stupid (that I know actually know better) people.

I don't know. Sometimes eye "goop"can be treated quite easily with warm water and soap other times of course if related to ears or a cold they need a vet to get the proper treatment. I think some people are just ridiculous and/or childish and feel they are important if they can make somebody else feel bad or stupid. Good Luck with the kitten-Nancy

Yeah you do get some really stupid answers, but hey, don't take it so seriously! People usually get the answer they need in the end. If I had a poorly pet I'd sooner ring the vets though- I wouldn't gamble with something like that on yahoo answers. Take care :)

first off you have to understand this is a free service so anyone and everyone can post questions and answer them and most people are trying to help others and give good advice others are out to try and get a rise out of people and when they get or give those bad questions or answers they get a kick out of what people do back to them. they just have low self esteme. if this was a pay service, there would be less people to help but also it would cut down on the people out there to make comments just to get a rise out of people.

Some people dont understand, and its not your place to tell people off. Some people dont think of the things you thought of, and that dont make you better. If you feel that way, then you shouldnt be aswering questions. People always got something smart to say, if she knew the answer then she wouldnt come to this forum to ask and get a rude response

Unhappy people will often look for targets on which to displace their own anger and discontent. It is easier and more comforting for them than it is to do something positive about their own problems.
O.K.,so I have been rude here on occasion, but not to people who were honestly seeking answers (and also used spell check)

Have you tried looking for a natural treatment. It could just be an allergy. I have a dog who has allergy's, but I don't know what to use for cats.
Try looking on line for homeopathic meds for pets. See if they describe it correctly, and what is recommended as an effective treatment. If you are still unsure call your vet, and ask. Hope your kitty gets better.

All public domain sites have this very issue. Not a whole lot can be done about it. Do not take it personally.

Just skip over and ignore, thats what I do.
