If you have some mussels, or clams available, you may showcase your culinary skills with some Stuffed Mussels or Clams.
The recipe is :
about 40 well-cleaned clams/mussels
1/3 cup of fine dried breadcrumbs, better use homemade from a coarse bread (toast it and put it in your blender)
4 tbsps grated cheese
4 tbsps chopped parsley
2 cloves garlic, minced well
7 tbsps olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
lemon wedges
Open each shell with a knife or you may steam it for a few minutes so it will open voluntarily. Do not steam it too long, you just need the shells to open up and not cook it. Discard half of the shells without the a meat. Lay these shells on a baking sheet.
Prepare your griller or oven by preheating it. Combine your breadcrumbs, cheese, parsley, half of the olive oil, salt, garlic and pepper in a bowl. Carefully put some of the mixture in each of the shells, atop the shell meat. Drizzle the remaining olive oil on the shells. Brown it in your grill or oven until the cheese melts, or about 4 mins. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
Or my personal favorite might interest you,
Ham Roll- Ups
1/3 cup of cream cheese
1/2 cup grated quickmelt Cheddar cheese
1 tbsp chopped spring onions or shallots
1/2 tsp prepared mustard
4 slices of cooked ham
Soften the cream cheese in your microwave oven, stir in cheddar cheese, shallots and mustard. Spread the warm cream mixture on each ham slices. Roll each slice from the narrow end, forming small logs. Cut each roll into 4 pieces and secure with toothpicks/wooden picks.

Well if you really want something simple you could try one of those big plates with Cheese, small pickels, lettuce and tomatoe on it or you can even go to the store and by one of those round trays with carrots, broccoli and some other stuff on it and it has a big round bowl like in the middle for you to dump any dressing or dip into it, you could aslo try dip and chips.
You could also try buying a big round dish of shrimp that also has a big bowl like in the middle to put sauce in it. Next time you go to the store I would ask someone about a appatiser tray, they have many diffrent ones.

Shrimp wrapped in bacon with a little BBQ sauce. De-vein and take the tails off of jumbo shrimp. Wrap them in bacon and stick a toothpich thru them to hold together. Put about 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce in a bag and put the shrinp & bacon in the bag and shake. Put them in a skillet and cook until the bacon is cooked. You'll be a hit.
