Quicken is probably one of the best. A limited edition usually comes free with most computers. This version will handle all your bank accounts, securities, and budgeting. It makes balancing your checkbook extremely easy.

Quicken has household programs...I just make my own in excel though

Quicken is no longer sold in the UK and official support for Quicken ceased in January 2006. (See www.quicken.co.uk).

Microsoft Money is the obvious alternative choice.

I thought Microsoft Money was pretty easy, though I've never tried Quicken.

I use microsoft money. buy it bundled witha tax program and save some money.
