I think the answer to this may depend more on your comfort lvl with him than his physical condition... if you are both comfortable with you sitting on his lap he could "dance you around the dance floor" that way. If that is not an option (uncomfortable with it, his legs are hurt and wouldnt take the added weight, etc) then as the others said you could dance with him in the chair and you standing (a little akward so be sure to practice) or you "dancing" him around the room (at a safe dance pace of cource, most father/daughter songs are slow anyway).
Good luck and enjoy the happy day.

You know what, wheel chair or not, nothing should keep a father from dancing with his daughter on her special day. If possible, maybe he could dance for just a minute with her without chair. If not she can dance with him in the chair. It is done all the time. It makes it that much more special and memorable and I agree, there will not be a dry eye in the place.

I would strongly suggest he rolls down the aisle in that wheelchair your arm on his shoulder. The dance pretty much the same you go out on the dance floor the music starts you take his hands/shoulder and you dance with him! I very much doubt that you will have a dry eye in the room . Good luck

If it will work temporarily put him in a chair where the arms will go down. She can sit on his lap in the center of the floor. They won't be able to move since her dress will be draped over the wheel. But she can sit in his lap and he can hold his little girl one last time as a song of their choice plays.

this question actually brought (happy) tears to my eyes. as i am in a wheelchair myself. hubby and i dance the slow dances all the time and here is how we do that:
he stands beside me and i put my arms round his waist and he puts his hand on my shoulder.
when the song ends we always grab a quick hug before exiting the dance floor

So how about the bride moving the wheel chair around the dance floor? ( I mean within reason...not racing fer Chrissakes). I can't see how any face to face dancing can occur unless something can be figured out but it's the best solution I can offer at the time.

Wonderful question. Does father or daughter sing? If so, this time could be filled in with one singing to the other, or a duet.... could even lipsynch or sing it karaoke style. Another idea is to fill in this time with a PowerPoint presentation of father and daughter in years past. Best of luck to you.

Hold his hand and maybe you can kinda walk around the dance floor together. Does he have the electric kind because that would work.
