Don't try to down-play your intelligence just to please other people. You will find someone who is just as intellectual as you seem to be. Be patient, and don't feel bad for having a brain.

Girls saying that are usually using it as an excuse. They have another reason that they feel bad telling you. But if you try too hard it will always happen. Just be yourself and relax and go with the flow. You'll find that girls like that alot. And respond to it well.

You just have to keep plugging. Try going to different places to meet women. Try talking about different things, if all you talk about is computers go find out about something different to broaden yourself. Maybe just try asking about the girl and what is going on with her. Biggest thing is just don't give up.

Maybe your wardrobe is screaming GEEK, do you talk about school/work constantly? Try to take up some hobbies that have nothing to do with intellect, and use that as conversation starters.
