For a one year old, keep it as simple and as short as possible, whatever you decide to do. You and she will have a better time. They are easily wound up and it's hard to get them calm again without tears. Your daughter won't remember any of it anyway, even when she's sees photos later in her life, her "memories" will be whatever you tell her. When my son was little, the first three years, he opened presents and then we had a family dinner with the relatives and then had cake for dessert. He was four when we started going crazy with a train party, a fireman party, a zoo party, etc... up until now when he wants a camping/ hiking weekend trip. Happy Birthday!

You dont really need to plan that much. The party is really for adults since a 1 year old can't do much and won't remember. If the weather is nice outside, do a BBQ or go to a family friendly restaurant.

mcdonalds, chuckie cheeses.thats all i can see for a 1 year old. you can pretty much get away with the minimum.mcdonalds is probably the best b/c its set up so you can see all the kids no one can sneak away and thiers usually a little park or slide for them. come on french fries and birthday cake sounds like it could be a winner.

zoo, park. The party is actually for you since the baby is still too young to appreciate it so don't go to a kiddie (McDonalds, chuck e cheese) place. It will be too loud for the family to visit.

I think somewhere like Macdonalds or Burger King could be a good place.
