If it is only "dating", the families may be afraid for extra-marital affairs which are considered bad. The high caste families always prefer a match with the same or higher class.

the parents respect the indiann tradition and like their children also lead the life they have from their life, they are some wat secured thinking of arranged marriages bcoz they have experienced the tradition and follow it, they are not used to latest trends in love and realtions, so they feel tensed and wont accept it........
