When the man takes a wife ..some times because of housing problems he will remain in his parents house with his wife until he can arrange for a living accommodation for his self and his wife.. it dose work pretty well because
Muslim woman respect each other very highly .specially
when it comes to Mother in law and daughter in law the bond is so grate that no bad feeling ever happen between them..I would say 95 % of the time it works perfectly
it may sound odd to you because you are from the west
and don't know any better about Islam..
western woman find it odd to move in with their mother in laws..they don't seam to want to get on with each other from day one.. I don't want to generalize but mainly it just seams every one is like it.. a lot of disrespect towards each other ..it's so sad

incorrect, my brother and myself live in different countries away from our parents and on our own, my mother in law has spent more time under my roof than has my mother! this is part of the culture where the guy lives with the parents and then the wife ends up living with the in laws, peace

I don't believe this has anything to do with Islam. in every culture in the world, mostly eastern world, this kind of thing is quite common especially if the mother is a widow. but it has nothing to do with one's religion

Yes it is and trust me having the mother of your husband living there canbe a real pain in the ****. She would alweays behind you making sure everything you do is inher perfection or she would make sure you husband knows about it and would make your life impossible until teh day you finally tell her to mind your own dammn business!!!

not really, it's not in the Quran neither Hadith (muhammad words). it's up to the couples to accept this or no. sometime people do it for financial reasons, sometime they do it because the mother in law is getting old, and no one else will take care of her. or to help the wife raise her kids.

hink it is normal for the new wife to live with the husbands family untill they are able to move out on their own or forced to by lake of space but it is good to have extended family to help with the first baby
