I've been dating this nice guy for a few months and we are exclusively seeing one another. He has a myspace account which he gets on everyday. However, under "Status" he still has himself as "Single". Should I ask him to change it to "In a relationship?"
You males out there, why would he keep his myspace at "single" while he has a girlfriend (me)?
Is he up to something?

He has updated his myspace profile in other areas. Added pics, added friends etc.
So, the comments saying he hasn't noticed, or hasn't updated his profile are wrong. He has, but not that area.
Oh, btw, I have a myspace profile too.

Have some of your male friends come and comment all over your page about stuff your bf won't find approiate..when he say something say "well, from the looks of your page it say your single and so does mine"...oh, he will change it...TRUST

You know that's weird. My bf's Myspace says the same thing. We've been dating for a while and he hasn't changed it either. I'm kinda bothered by it too. So at least you're not the only one. I'm curious to what the answers will be to this.

Perhaps "Single" to him just means "not married". Perhaps he gets pre-occupied and forgets. Who knows. We guys aren't as bright as you wish we were (although there are some exceptions).
I'd suggest dropping a friendly reminder, "just so you know" sorta thing. Try not to make yourself sound like the alternative would be the end of the world. If he doesn't, he may do it eventually because girls notice his "status" and try to ask him out unawares. If he still doesn't, that may mean something, I'm not sure what.
Now, I say this because I believe in granting the benefit of a doubt. This may be because, in spite of my attendance to dances and total of two dates, I've never really had a girlfriend before. So I may be wrong. But it's how I see things.

You have only been going out a few months, stop trying to control him. If your that bothered get your own myspace account and list as single too.

My boyfriend at the time did the same thing. HE would NEVER change it to in a relationship it pissed me off, but then I just stoped worrying about it. Well then I found out he was seeing someone else, and as soon as I broke up him he got with the "other girl". Now they are together, and for whatever reason he changed his myspace to say In a relationship. So, apparently he didn't think enough of me to show others he was with me. I would make him change it. It's petty, yes, however, you two are together...so why wouldn't he change it.

Out of respect he should change his status. But harping on this is only going to drive a wedge in your relationship. Change yours to single and tell him you have someone you want to meet from myspace to see if it changes his tune.

If you have already asked him and he refuses to change it then you have a problem. However, your question suggests that you haven't spoken with him about it but are, instead, assuming he will read your mind and change it on his own. Your problem is the lack of basic communication skills between you.
I assume he hasn't done it because it isn't a big deal to him. If that is the case, you should ask yourself why you care. It sounds like you are both jealous and insecure. If you feel you must, then talk with him about it. I suspect you will learn that it never occurred to him to change it.

Men are loath to change. Women usually have to change them. He sounds like a typical male. Why don't you put together a Myspace and list yourself as single?
