Many couples do indeed give each other gifts before the wedding, but others often view the gift as an extra expense and agree that a better gift is the fact that they have each other and dont have to spend extra money to prove anything. Plenty of anniversaries yet to come for gifts.

However, if you want to get him a gift anyway or the two of you decide together that you wish to exchange gifts, I would go with something he will be able to use (something practical). Get him a part of his outfit for example, like the tie he is going to wear down the aisle if its not going to be rented, or the cufflinks (if not rented), or the shoes, or give him a gift certificate to the tux rental place.

If youd rather give him something less practical but still something he will likely enjoy, you could get him tickets for a local sporting event, or even a gift certificate to a masseuse.

If your budget is tight and you both still wish to do gifts you could give homemade "coupons" or "gift certificates" to each other for one thing you know the other would love (examples: a massage with you as the masseuse, or a dinner in for just the two of you (your the chef), etc.) The best part of this idea is that you can add your "gift certificates" / "coupons" to your wedding scapbook and look back on how much fun you had.

Good Luck

I bought my ex-husband a quaich, it it a traditional Scottish gift that a bride gave her husband on their wedding day, it's like a silver cup with two handles on it, but then he was Scottish and knew what it was, some people wouldn't have known.

Something unique that he will appreciate. SOme people do the traditional thing, like cuff links. I prefer to be different I bought my husband a magic kit, because he always wanted one as a kid and never recceived one. I think it will be a fun, different gift that he can play with our daughter with.

Gifts are overrated and will just sit in a box somewhere.

The gift of your promise of eternal love should be quite enough!

Something personalized, with an inscription, or the wedding date. Make it something memorable, something that you two share together, nothing that a stranger like me could tell you.
