throwing a soft blanket on the grass and bringing with you whatever non-moldy food you can find in the fridge can be utterly romantic. Find a location in a serene park or quiet beach. Make sure the day is sunny with no chance of rain. Unfold your blanket and lie in the sun together. You can enjoy some nibbles and then curl up with each other in the warmth of the sun or bring a book (each of you) and be happy that you are side by side and enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings. HERE'S SOMETHING :

1 Package of fresh, ripe and red strawberries.
GOOD champagne
Large wine goblets.
Directions:

Wash the strawberries and cut them into small bite size pieces.
Place them into the wine goblets filling them almost to the top.
Pour the champagne over the berries.
Place the glasses in the fridge until ready to serve. The longer they stay in the fridge, the more the berries will absorb the champagne.

Let's see...to me, sandwiches are too typical. I would bring:

California Rolls
Dumplings
Red wine, cola, juice.
cold potato or pasta salad
Vegetable Dip and Vegetable sticks
Chips
Pastries
And nice hot coffee in a thermos to have with the pastries

Flowers for decoration, and don't forget to pack the picnic mat.

I would make a fresh fruit salad. Some wraps of some sort whatever his favorite type of lunch meat and cheese is. Some crackers and cheese. Some wine, if that's what you both like, or some fresh juice. A comfy blanket!! And pillows in case you need to lay down due to you being so nice to him :)

Wine, french bread, cheese, ham, tomatoes, mayonnaise to make mini sandwiches. Go to a beach for a sun downer, put some candles in colorful paper bags fill it with sand to make them stay up and light them and watch the sun go down, sing him your song... its the most romantic pic nic you will ever have.....

OR

You could go to a local, park same food, put the pic nic basket in the trunk of your car and fill your trunk with balloons lots of balloons, ask him to get something out of your trunk when he opens it the balloons will fly out... very romantic, it works believe me
