I do believe because Deutsch means German. That is why there is some speculation in my family as to whether our ancestors were Dutch or German since many that came over referred to themselves as Deutsch that was interpretted by name takers as Dutch and not German.
Anway, that is how it goes in my family, Neiswonger.
