No, not really, even the most confident people buy nice clothes and spend time on their looks to feel better about themselves, because it works. Just remember this though: a confident person in average clothes is more attractive than an unconfident person dressed to the hilt. If you are a teenager, then it's pretty normal to use clothes and lots of them to boost your confidence, since at this age you are discovering your identity, but as you age, you will discover that confidence comes from with-in, so best thing you can do is hang around confident people, you will learn from the best!

Lots of people rely on their clothes, belongings, assets to boost their self-confidence. If you're spending thousands and thousands of dollars on clothes, or have two closets full of clothes you have there just to look at them and say "I earned those" then that's what I'd call crazy over clothes. You need to know though that at some point in your life the material things will diminish or leave you totally and your ego will be hurt. So maybe you need to diversify. Consider your education, your past employment, a good name you've made for yourself, your family and family history, your good friends, and each good thing you do for humanity as ego boosters as well, and for each new an good deed you do just pat yourself on the back.

Well, its better than some other things people do to boost thier confidence and zest, such as drugs and alcohol. I would say its not the absolute BEST way to deal with your problems, but its not that bad as long as you keep the shopping under control. Just remember, any behavior has the potential to get out of control if it feels good.

If you rely on the clothes to boost your confidence may be a problem, however if you use clothing to help than I say good for you. Believe it or not people are treated differently when dressed well as to people who are not.

If you want a real confidence boost, just think of how bad, rotten, stupid, evil, idiotic, moronic, unethical, deceitful, etc. a lot of people are that you loads more integrity than, then just say the world sucks, is full of f-ing idiots, and you're a misunderstood genius who is only hated/rejected/looked down on/whatever because they're all jealous.
It works for me.

Nice clothes can boost morale considerably. There is nothing wrong with that at all.
It's when you start building your entire self-image around your wardrobe that you've got a problem.
So sure, enjoy your clothes. But remember that you are more than bits of cloth and lace.

No, you're not crazy. Clothes can make or break your confidence. If you know you look good, it's going to show through in your performance.

You are not coming to terms with your true self...you are insecure and you rely in your appearances... but work on your personality...so you'll be confident no matter what.
