Help me understand how men think....

I've learned that "dating" is a very broad term now, so I think different men define it in different ways. Many guys who are dating really are looking for a woman to have sex with. They are trying to prove how manly they are by hooking up on the first date. That's like the ultimate male ego-trip.
However, this rarely happens unless a girl who knows what he is after thinks to herself, "What the hell, he's hot". Because in truth guys are NOT really looking for sex... we are looking for a connection. Society has beat into our heads OVER AND OVER again that it is sex we really need.
Well I can tell you, as a guy who has had a lot of sex and is now engaged, I never felt more empty then when I hooked up and she was gone. As much as popular media likes to pretend, guys actually do have hearts too, unless we turn them off completely. It is actually rare for guys to be completely out of touch with our hearts.
SO, most guys see dating as a way to test the waters for a relationship. These are guys who often come across either as actors, or somewhat insecure. And here is why... we are. Most men feel very inadequate in this society, so we try to prove to you that we are a someone worth being with.
What you can do to help a guy in a "dating" scenario is to reassure him that you actually want to get to know him. If he is faking, I'm sorry (especially if he is cute), because he probably won't change anytime soon. You may actually help him by letting him know that you know he is faking.
If he is being genuine, he will probably come across as a little weak at first. Here is why. If he is actually interested in you he will try and open up, and it WILL be a little awkward at first for many guys. We have no rite of passage in this society. We have not been trained. So if a guy is being genuine with you, and seems a little weak, give it some time. This one actually has an interest in you.
Sadly, most guys are very insecure in this society. So many of us hide it behind, "Dude, I got laid last night". These guys are the most insecure of all. They have given up trying to be genuine.
I'm a life coach, and the hundreds of women I've spoke with want one thing... genuine. So rather then asking how guys define dating, I would suggest that you define it for yourself. Then ask the guy you are "dating" if he is on board with that interpretation of it. :)

An arrangement where it is understood that both parties will see each other socially, just the two of them most of the time, and whilst the dating arrangement continues, to the exclusion of other "dates".
This works perfectly as long as you don't get caught by your wife.

properly some females like the magnificent guy, yet regularly the undesirable guy comes off as mysterious, wounded, and deeper than he truly is. each and every female must be in a position to break the undesirable guy and make him fall so confusing for her that he's prepared to modify his procedures. it quite is the commonest reason: a foul guy is a challenge or challenge. a magnificent guy might want to be elementary to get. yet magnificent adult males are regularly extra perfect.
