Looking at getting a 240sx from Canada. I live in Washington state, has anyone ever transported and registered a formerly Canadian car?

if all the original emission parts are there,it is legal

Done all the time. The dealer will be able to answer any questions and give you the needed paperwork to take it across the border and register it in your home state. Don't forget your passport to get YOU over the border.

Have registration and inspection reports, is it a salvaged vehicle? If it is then you may need an appraisal before insuring. You will have to show all of this to the Brokers office at the border when you cross. I know you have to do that to cross from US to Canada.

take it along with the title from Canada to the license agency and all they will do is make sure the v.i.n. number matches and then give u a title in the USA good luck

If it is a used car as long as it passes emissions it is good to go.
