Drinking plenty (enough) water throughout the day definitely helps your health overall and may boost your metabolism.

Our bodies are made up of 70% water, therefore water is essential in keeping the body functioning properly (metabolism included)!

Drink enough water while jogging BUT NOT TOO MUCH, otherwise you might get cramps. Best is to sip about 3-5 mouthfuls every 20-30 minutes while jogging. Make sure to drink at least two big glasses of water after you've finished jogging. You'll need to replenish the fluids you lost due to sweating while running.

That's not the primary concern that is addressed with drinking water.

Drinking water is to prevent you from being dehydrated. If you are dehydrated, you have a whole host of "body issues", none of which are good.

In fact, if you get a headache, dizziness, disorientation, etc (classic symptoms) every time you job, would you want to jog after a few sessions? I don't think so... and therefore your weight loss effort would suffer.

Finally, many people abstain from water in order to have a quick fix weight loss. This basically drains liquids from your body, and as any wrestler knows, that's a "great" way to lose pounds fast ("great" = effective) -- those wrestlers usually crash during the meet due the dehydration.

If you're not peein, then you're dehydrated. If you're done exercising, then you need to drink water until you gotta pee. Only when you're peeing do you know that you're fully hydrated again.
