Well, this book does have one of my favorite literary lines...
“To the last, I grapple with thee; From Hell's heart, I stab at thee; For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee”

Cool! Jim! You're back with the good questions!!!
Moby Dick is proof that we live in a holographic universe. In a hologram, ALL information is in EVERY part of the film. So too, in the universe of thought, all thought is encoded into ANY sufficiently large volume, such as Moby Dick. This phenomenon was first recognized in the Bible, but it works for ALL volumes containing human information.
Uh-oh... If the Universe is indeed holographic, ya kinda have to wonder who created the hologram...

Here we have more dumb codes! "Moby Dick" was not intended to predict the death of a president over a century later, and I am certain that it does not do so. A Chinese pal finds codes in comic strips in the newspaper for betting at horse races. That makes as much sense as finding codes in "Moby Dick", the Bible or paintings by Da Vinci and Poussin.

Yes, Moby Dick was prophetic. Well, as prophetic as anything else, including the Bible.

0% that a book can predict the future but 100% the person writing the book can predict the future. There are many people that have predicted the future and you have to respect that. There are many gifted people out there and it is the work of god throgh those people.

I don't know about Moby Dick being prophetic but, you may want to read and STUDY the Bible. You may be quite surprised.

Better yet, does this make Jules Vern a true prophet? Look at all of the books he did about submarines... and people thought he was crazy. Maybe we could start a religion based on that? ^_^

I can see that if a book doesn't predict anything some people will still think it does out of the light of their fantasy which is really no light at all but darkness.
