I listen to soothing lullaby music. The most important thing to do is to not worry about falling asleep. If you worry, you won't sleep. Also, before you go to bed, have 'down time', don't just fall into bed and expect to fall asleep. Read a book, take a short walk outside, watch TV, check your email, do something that relaxes you so you can be 'chillin' before you actually want to sleep.
Breathing meditation works well, too. Try to concentrate only on your breathing rhythm, pretty soon you will fall asleep. Don't resort to sleeping pills or drinking alcohol, you will develop some sort of dependency.

I must be worry something or waiting for something results or care something/someone that I cannot put down. I should ask myself what is the most important if life is not existing. Then I can sleep well. Physically I can drink a glass of hot milk and sink my feet into warm water for an hour and read a book etc.
